St Nicholas' Church, Hereford |
The present St Nicholas Church was erected in 1842 to replace the old medieval church which stood at the intersection of St Nicholas Street, King Street and Bridge Street. The new church was partly built with stone re-used from the old one. |

The new church was consecrated on August 11th 1842 |

We find it odd that the Victorians would happily demolish a medieval church. The reason for moving St Nicholas was that the original was blocking traffic. This view shows why they wanted the old church out of the way. |
