Description ‘Plank’ at junction of ditch 48 and segment 160 of ditch 164.

Description Southernmost, butt-end, segment of ditch 164. Steep sided with a flat base, this was sharply angular in plan with the southern, butt-end lying parallel to robber trench 50 rather than at 90° to the ditch.
Comment The plan of this, with its butt end parallel to foundation 240 of wall 103, strongly suggests that this was dug after wall 103 was built.
