Description Segment of ditch 324 with rounded V-shaped profile. It was filled by 112, and lay beneath clearance layer 106. It cut into the mid yellow brown alluvial silt 107.

Description The sole fill of segment 111 of ditch 324, this was a mid brown (7.5 YR 4/2) fairly compact soil. There were frequent charcoal inclusions and small rounded pebbles. Some small pieces of slag and some bone which seemed fairly badly decayed.
Comment Very similar to 106, possibly same as 106.

Description Irregular bowl-shaped feature c 40mm deep. Seen in section of sondage running west - east from wall 95.
Comment Possibly a post-hole but no obvious associations.

Description A segment of ditch 164, this was a steep sided cut with flat bottom. Cut into 107. This had a (possible) step down 100 to 150mm. This was cut into subsoil 107. Approximately 0.7m deep.

Description Lower fill of segment 115 of ditch 164. A dark brown (7.5 YR 3/2) humic silty soil with charcoal, small pieces of broken sandstone. Became progressively damper and more clayey at boundary with 117.

Description A yellow brown silty clay layer in the south-west corner of the main cutting. This layer overlay walls 45 and 95. It contained occasional to rare charcoal and occasional rubble.

Description A layer in the south-west corner of main cutting overlying walls 45 and 95, and sealing 135. It was a pale to mid brown silty clay which contained occasional charcoal and crushed stone.
