Ewyas Harold

Ewyas Harold
Herefordshire

   Medieval Pageant

  July 4th 2009

Ewyas Harold castle is the oldest in England. It was built by Osbern Pentecost, a Norman lord in the service of Edward the Confessor in the years before the
Norman Conquest.

A group of Normans enjoy some refreshment. The locals at the time drank ale,
or as they were Welsh-speaking, we should perhaps say cwrw. The Normans
introduced cider to the British Isles.
